But It Was a Dream...It is often said that the show must go on.
The day of Elena's marriage was no different.
When she woke up that morning, she thought of all the things that had ever made her happy, and she wished for all of those things to happen with her marriage. Surely it wasn't ridiculous to hope for a happy marriage?
The preparations for the day seemed to fly by, and soon Elena found herself being escorted down the aisle. She looked around surprised and confused. Surely it had only been a second since she was preparing for the wedding, and now it was time. Elena closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She simply had to relax. It would all be fine.
As she gazed into his eyes, she was sure she loved him. But she was also sure that this wasn't right.
His eyes, once an amazing, pale blue were now the darkest black, irises overflowing with color.
Elena watched in fascination as his face slowly began to shift. And then it was not Darius standing before her. It was Dylan, his brother.
Too EarlyIt happens today, and I am not ready. I look at him, but then I must look away. So long I tried to hide him from his destiny, but today he no longer looks like my son. Today he wears the robes of my husband. I have to close my eye to keep from crying. Where did those years of his youth go? He is only 15, I want to scream, but it will change nothing.
I feel a single tear on my cheek and lift a single, gloved finger to it. I walk up to him and adjust the cloak around his shoulders. He only stares at me, and this makes me so much sadder. I turn, skirts shifting around my feet.
It is time.
I glide down the steps and stare straight ahead as I am led to my carriage. Everything is happening too fast, and suddenly I am lost. I hear the door close and feel the carriage moving beneath me. And suddenly I am weeping; my tears are flowing rapidly.
And then, suddenly, the carriage stops. Getting out, I look around, look at the stones sticking out of the ground. Once more, I cry
